Co-Founder Story! I'm Melanie and this is my company and story!
Did you know that the first, original soft drinks created were health tonics?
Over a century ago, Ginger Ale, Root Beer and others were made by pharmacists (apothecaries) and sold for their medicinal benefits. They were fermented with botanicls.
Since 2012, I myself struggled with chronic health issues that seemed insourmountable. I tried everything to cure myself- and finally completely stopped eating sugar and even solid foods to try healing.
The root causes? A severely imbalanced gut, a digestive disorder. I didn’t realize how deeply our gut's health and gut balance affects our entire well-being, it affects even sleep, energy, mood and other body functions.
After a medical trip to Germany to find answers, a doctor taugh me that our “gut is our second brain”. My focus changed. Upon returning to Canada. I changed by lifestyle and diet.
It wasn't an easy path to cure. I felt alone and empathised with many people who isolate themselves dure to health. My first thought: why don't we have healthy alternatives to delicious foods and drinks that bring people together?
My second thought:
My mission began: If I couldn't find it, I would make it. I turned my isolation to productivity: so, started mixing & and fermenting ingredients to create BROO! For me my first impulse was creating a health tonic with benefits for my gut, without the destructive componenets. A delicious brew that is health-supportive and that was beneficial was born!
II wanted to bring opportunity and options to people with sensitivities.
My obsession with combining beenfits, a cure and taste became reality in the first Broo Prototypes.
These aren’t just drinks. They’re a life style of well-being, joy, and connection—one sip at a time.

Although Ahmad is an engineer by training, he has decided to take the high road in the beverage industry where his refined palate and understanding of finances, business development and digital marketing are prized.
